Teeny car

Posted on 07:39 by gaurav kumar
My dad is obsessed with all things automotive. One of my earliest memories is sitting in his lap and watching the Grand Prix on TV; he would tilt me from side to side as the cars went around curves. When we were in the grocery store parking lot and a nice car drove by, my dad would roll down the window so we could all hear the sound of the engine. Now that I'm grown up, car stuff still feels nostalgic and comforting to me. So...check this out!

The Peel P50 is a three-wheeled microcar manufactured from 1962 to 1965 on the Isle of Man, according to Wikipedia. It has no reverse gear, but it's so light that you can pull it around yourself using a handle at the back! Designed as a city car, it was advertised as being able to fit "one adult and a shopping bag." There's one seat, one door, one wiper and one headlight.
How awesome is that?

P.S. Car pillows for little dudes.

Cheap date night: Biore strips

Posted on 11:52 by gaurav kumar
Our baby must be cozy because I haven't gone into labor yet! My due date is still a couple days away, but my doctor really expects the baby to arrive early, so we're on pins and needles.

In the meantime, Alex and I have been trying to work in some pre-baby Last Hurrahs—going to a romantic Italian restaurant, hanging with friends, staying up late watching movies. So, last night, we decided to do an at-home spa night, where we drank sparkling water, gave each other massages (and foot rubs), and busted out...Biore Pore Strips.

Have you ever tried them? You stick them on your nose, wait ten minutes and then peel them off, along with all the dirt and blackheads. I know, it's gross. But! They are weirdly awesome and satisfying, and the funny thing is, guys love them. When I was younger, I used to even bring a pack home at Christmas for my male relatives, who would all jump at the chance to compare their used strips. It's a rare mix of guy humor and girly pampering.
(Haha, I spared Alex from posing for a photo.) It was a really fun night, and I'd recommend them if you want to do something amusing and random one evening.
P.S. Just for fun, here's Toby dressed up as Daddy earlier that evening. #nailedit

P.S. 10 NYC dates, including fire-escape drinks and a terrifying trapeze class.

Wake alarm

Posted on 09:57 by gaurav kumar
When you're bleary eyed in the morning, it's so annoying to fiddle with buttons on your phone, don't you think? Well, Wake is an iPhone alarm clock app that is totally intuitive: You just slap it to snooze, and you flip it to turn it off. Thumbs up.
P.S. The funniest app for peeing during movies.
